Thanks to our great network of collaborating dermatologists and surgeons, we have wide access to tissue specimens of scalp skin from healthy subjects and patients affected by skin and hair follicle disorders.
We are delighted to inform that we have updated our “Skin Diseases” and “Hair Diseases” pages in our homepage.
Employing our extensive portfolio of techniques, we use these human skin specimens for the identification and characterization of new therapeutic targets. In addition, we use human primary cells, ex vivo organ culture of human hair follicles and human full thickness skin, and humanized mouse in vivo models to validate new targets for hair and skin disorders, as well as investigating mechanisms of action, and effects of compounds/formulations/drugs (also via topical application) for hair and skin disorders management.
We have uploaded flyers summarizing our capabilities in terms of in vitro/ex vivo/in vivo models for selected skin and hair disorders, such as alopecia areata, hidradenitis suppurativa, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, pruritus, etc. Reach out to us to know more about customized models, techniques, and research projects.
